Danielle Ponder got a law degree after her brother got a 20-year sentence because of a “three strikes” law. She was a public defender and later as a diversity, equity, and inclusion officer in that same office—the music was never far from her heart as she played in bands and wrote songs, first between classes, then between cases. She was successful in law but realized that she had to choose between music and law. She aims to encourage, inspire, and resonate with listeners in various ways through her activism, behind the mic, or in the judicial system.
