Microspirit – Frail Talk

Frail Talk took their evolving sound to Lazybones Audio in Silsbee, Texas, where they teamed up with producers Hannah Read (Lomelda) and Tommy Read to record their sophomore album, Microspirit. Over seven days of intense collaboration, they crafted a new collection of songs that deepened their commitment to emotion and substance. Microspirit is out today on all platforms. 

Rebuilding From the Inside Out

Misner & Smith, Sam Misner and Megan Smith, the dynamic duo hailing from Northern California, guide listeners on an introspective journey through their musical universe, with their sixth release, All is Song, which was a six year writing process. Arrested Development at Red Rocks with 311 – July 1, 2023

On July 1, 2023, Arrested Development brought their unique blend of Afrocentric hip-hop to a sold-out Red Rocks show with 311. Formed in Atlanta in 1988 by Speech and Headliner, the group offers a positive alternative to the gangsta rap of the late ’80s. Known for their uplifting messages and innovative sound, Arrested Development captivated the audience with hits like “Tennessee” and “People Everyday.” The group’s founding members, Speech and Baba Oje, met at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where they began crafting their iconic style. This performance marked another milestone in their enduring legacy.

A Return to Unfinished Business

Zachary Williams of The Lone Bellow embarks on a solo tour to promote his album Dirty Camaro. With intimate performances featuring just him and his guitar, Zach reflects on his journey from rural Georgia to New York City. His music, shaped by personal experiences, explores themes of authenticity and connection. Inspired by a conversation with Jim James, he embraces solo artistry while staying true to his roots. The Lil Smokies on the road, longing for home in the desert

The snow is falling in Colorado. The wind is blowing. The mountain roads are horrendous at times as The Lil Smokies trek through promoting their third Studio Album Tornillo. Andy Dunnigan (vox and dobro) and I share a moment over a coffee and joke about the weather that forced the band an extra stop on i70. Dunnigan was in Frisco and happy for the daylight and the open pass so Fort Collins can share an evening with them at Washington’s Thursday, February 13.

Kyle Hollingsworth Band 2019 New West Fest

Kyle Hollingsworth, renowned for his role in The String Cheese Incident, brought his solo project, the Kyle Hollingsworth Band, to the 2019 New West Fest. Known for his mastery of the electric piano, Hammond organ, clavinet, synthesizer, and accordion, Hollingsworth delivered a dynamic performance. The band’s eclectic sound, blending rock, funk, and jazz, energized the festival crowd.
